What is RainCo-3
I will try to describe what RainCo can do and what it can be used for. If you have any questions, please send me an email.I am often asked what RainCo-3 actually is and what it can be used for. Simply put, RainCo is a system for controlling misting systems for terrariums. Until now, each spray circuit required its own pump and water tank.
A spray circuit can contain one or more terrariums. For this purpose, the spray nozzles of the terrariums are supplied in series from the pressure line of the pump one after the other.
The spray parameters (spray time and spray duration) are the same for all terrariums in this spray circuit.
Here is an example:
We have four terrariums with different animals and plants. The four terrariums should be sprayed differently according to the values in the table:
| Terrarium | Time | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Terrarium 1 | 8:00 | 10 sec. |
| Terrarium 2 | 10:00 | 25 sec. |
| Terrarium 3 | 10:00 14:00 |
25 sec. 20 sec. |
| Terrarium 4 | 11:00 15:00 18:00 |
15 sec. 30 sec. 10 sec. |
Previously, this required four different misting systems with four pumps, four water tanks and four control systems.
With RainCo, this can be reduced to a pump, a water tank and a control system.
What sets it apart from other systems, however, is that RainCo can also be used to activate valves. This makes it possible to supply up to six spray circuits with different parameters using just one pump and one water tank. Up to three spray times (the spray duration can be set individually for each spray time) can be easily activated for each spray circuit via the web interface.
Furthermore, RainCo can be integrated into a Home Assistant smart home. Home Assistant can then address each spray circuit and change the spray times of each individual spray circuit for this remote access directly before spraying. For example, seasonal spray parameters (time, duration) can be implemented via a routine in Home Assistant.
